Great Great Grandfather Wall had an Irish farm which my brother Patrick
visited in Ireland. It is claimed that men would come from miles around just
for his advice. My brother saw his marriage records in the County clerk's
office. Grandfather Lucius Wall was a judge in Sioux Falls, South Dakota
with three kids. My Father Lucius Wall II is a stock market prognosticater,
P.Q.Wall. I am the oldest of his 9 sons. I have 4 brothers and 4
half-brothers. My daughter is a civil engineer. My son is second on his
Chess team.
Maternal side - Russian, European Jews
My mother's mother was born in Kiev, Ukraine. Other family members born in
Germany, Poland, Latvia. My mother was born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.
My Mom raised 5 boys. I was born in New York, then California, then Denver,
then Texas, then New Hampshire/Massachusetts and now Denver again. I
attended Holmes Elementary (New York) Skinner Junior High (Denver), North
High (Denver) and University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. I learned to
mate with a bishop and a knight.
Chess
My father taught me at 6. My Mom didn't want to play. Age 17 - I won the
Colorado Junior Championship 6-0. I went on to score at least as many points
as the winner in 6 Denver Opens and 5 Colorado Championships. I was 1993
Massachusetts Blitz Champion. I have written for the Colorado Informant and
Chess Horizons (Massachusetts).
